Bus gets the clearance as Wild Elephant yields the right of way!

An elephant has escaped from a hilly area near the Thumanur part of Coimbatore's Anaikatti road. At that moment, a passing bus stopped to let the wild elephant to pass. On social media, the video has gone viral.

Coimbatore: Social media users have been sharing a video of a wild elephant allowing a bus to pass through a forest area near Anaikatti in Coimbatore.

The Coimbatore neighborhoods of Anaikatti, Mangarai, and Thadagam are home to numerous wild elephants.

The forest department advised all residents in the area to exercise caution around drivers driving by since the summer season has arrived and wild elephants and other animals may exit the forest and hilly areas at any time.

Wild elephants have frequently obstructed traffic as it passes. This morning, a lone wild elephant emerged from the steep region close to the Thumanur stretch of the Anaikatti road.

The elephant moved out of the way for the bus when it noticed one passing by at that point. On their smartphones, the bus passengers captured the video and posted it to social media.

The forest department has also advised drivers to drive with extreme caution because not all elephants would yield to cars and trucks and some may even chase them away.
