Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds in Coimbatore region

While Coimbatore district has been reeling under the scorching sun for the past few days, people were happy with the heavy rains and strong winds and thundershowers at a few places in the suburbs including Kanuvai, Thadagam and Somayampalayam on Thursday evening.


Coimbatore: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places in Tamil Nadu.



In this situation, heavy rains accompanied by strong winds lashed kanuvai, thadagam and Somayampalayam areas of Coimbatore district.



While it was initially raining heavily with high winds from east to west, it suddenly changed from west to east with heavy rains accompanied by strong winds.



People in the area are happy as the weather conditions in the area have been scorching for the past three days and the sudden rain has created a cool atmosphere.
