Coimbatore: In a village called Ponnandampalayam on Annur Road, South Coimbatore under the Coimbatore district, more than 300 families live in this village.
The eastern part of this village is in Kaniyur panchayat, the southern part is in Arasur panchayat, the northern part is in Mopperipalayam panchayat and the western part is in Narayanapuram panchayat under Annur union. In this situation, people face hardship in acquiring government welfare benefits or even paying their taxes.

This particular village is under a conflicting situation in terms of obtaining drinking water supply, sanitation or road facilities. Meanwhile, coming to the constitutional division, one part of the village falls under the Nilgiri MP constituency and another in the Coimbatore MP constituency. Similarly, in the assembly constituency, the Avinashi constituency is on one side and the Sulur constituency is on the other side.
This ongoing dispute in this area has existed for more than 25 years. Despite various protests and petitions, no actions have been availed.
