Eastern part of this village is in Kaniyur panchayat, the southern part is in Arasur panchayat, the northern part is in Mopperipalayam panchayat and the western part is in Narayanapuram panchayat under Annur union. Public alleged that DMK promised to resolve this issue immediately upon attaining power, but there is no resolution until now.

Coimbatore: In a village called Ponnandampalayam on Annur Road, South Coimbatore under the Coimbatore district, more than 300 families live in this village.

The eastern part of this village is in Kaniyur panchayat, the southern part is in Arasur panchayat, the northern part is in Mopperipalayam panchayat and the western part is in Narayanapuram panchayat under Annur union. In this situation, people face hardship in acquiring government welfare benefits or even paying their taxes.

This particular village is under a conflicting situation in terms of obtaining drinking water supply, sanitation or road facilities. Meanwhile, coming to the constitutional division, one part of the village falls under the Nilgiri MP constituency and another in the Coimbatore MP constituency. Similarly, in the assembly constituency, the Avinashi constituency is on one side and the Sulur constituency is on the other side.

This ongoing dispute in this area has existed for more than 25 years. Despite various protests and petitions, no actions have been availed.

The public alleged that even during the last election, DMK promised to resolve this issue immediately upon attaining power. Following no response from the authorities, people compiled all the presented petition copies, the news published and the actions taken and posted it to the Chief Minister's Special Cell and the Minister-in-Charge here.

For 25 years there has been no proper access to legal approaches including a police station. The public demanded that the Chief Minister pass a resolution to solve the problem of the region in the current legislative session.
