30 vehicles gutted in fire at Coimbatore's PRS grounds

The sudden fire broke out at the PRS grounds where more than 200 vehicles, seized in criminal cases, were parked in the premises of the Coimbatore police training school. Police are investigating the cause of the fire.



Coimbatore: Vehicles seized and parked by the Coimbatore City Police suddenly caught fire at the PRS grounds in Coimbatore.

In a part of the PRS Stadium in Coimbatore, more than 200 bikes and four-wheelers were parked, including vehicles seized by the City Police and vehicles that have been booked at various police stations which are under investigation.



On Friday evening, more than 30 vehicles were gutted in a fire at the PRS grounds.



The fire brigade, who came to know about the incident, doused the fire in the vehicles.



An inquiry is underway on the orders of Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, V Balakrishnan. The police are continuing their investigation though it is speculated that the sudden fire could have been due to the scorching sun.



More than 30 vehicles were gutted in the fire and black smoke engulfed the area, resulting in commotion and public panicking for some time.
