Coimbatore: Vehicles seized and parked by the Coimbatore City Police suddenly caught fire at the PRS grounds in Coimbatore.

In a part of the PRS Stadium in Coimbatore, more than 200 bikes and four-wheelers were parked, including vehicles seized by the City Police and vehicles that have been booked at various police stations which are under investigation.

On Friday evening, more than 30 vehicles were gutted in a fire at the PRS grounds.

The fire brigade, who came to know about the incident, doused the fire in the vehicles.

An inquiry is underway on the orders of Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, V Balakrishnan. The police are continuing their investigation though it is speculated that the sudden fire could have been due to the scorching sun.
