Body of Youth found dead in Valankulam handed over to his relatives

A youth from Azad Nagar, in Karumbukadai area committed suicide by jumping into Valankulam after his family reprimanded him for his smoking habit.


Coimbatore: The body of a youth, who was found dead in Valankulam in Coimbatore, has been handed over to his relatives.

Saleem (52) and his son Mohammed Hanifa (29), both residents of Azad Nagar 4th Street in Coimbatore, were engaged in selling vegetables.

Mohammad Hanifa seemed to have developed the habit of smoking due to mental stress and losses incurred in the business.

When his father Salim came to know about this, he reprimanded his son and asked to quit smoking.

Peeved at this, Mohammad Hanifa left the house on January 3 and went missing.

Subsequently, Saleem, his father lodged a missing complaint with the Race Course police.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and conducted an investigation and inspected the mortuary of the Coimbatore Government Hospital, where the bodies of unidentified persons, who died in accidents and drowning at various places in Coimbatore, were kept

The body of Mohammed Haneefa was identified from the mortuary, which was recovered from Valankulam on January 4, which was later handed over to the relatives.
