Tourists flock to Ooty in large numbers for 'Kaanum Pongal'

Tourists have flocked to Ooty in view of “ Kaanum Ponga” and they visited the Government botanical garden, boat house, Doddabetta and other tourist spots in the hill town in large numbers.



The Nilgiris: The arrival of tourists in Ooty, known as the queen of the hills, has been more than usual for the last two days due to the Pongal holidays.



Tourists who have thronged the hill station with their families visited Government Botanical Garden and enjoy the glass house and sit on the lawns to play with the children.



Similarly, the tourists who have gathered at the Boat House in Ooty ride on pedal and oar boats and motor boats.



Similarly, more than 1,000 tourists have been flocking to the Doddabetta view point and the Doddabetta road has been witnessing an increase in the traffic since morning.



The tourists have appealed to the Police to regulate traffic in congested pockets in the hill town.
