Arunthathiyars petition Collector seeking to retrieve encroached land from private firm near Peelamedu

Arunthathiyars of AD Colony next to Peelamedu in Coimbatore have petitioned collector to retrieve the encroached lands from Vishakha Steel Company and construct houses and toilets for them.



Coimbatore: Arunthathiyars of AD Colony next to Peelamedu in Coimbatore have petitioned Collector to retrieve the encroached lands from Vishakha Steel Company,and construct houses and toilets for them.



The Arunthathiyar community, who came to submit the petition, held aloft banners and raised slogans reiterating their demand.



"The Government should reclaim the land that belongs to us from Vishakha Steel Company. Houses should be constructed for homeless Arunthathiyar community." they demanded.



They also said that they have been forced to live in miserable conditions without even toilet facilities for the past 50 years and demanded the same.
