10 Effective Home Remedies For Malaria

Malaria, a life-threatening disease is caused by the plasmodium parasite and usually this can be spread to humans only through the bites of infected mosquitoes. All age groups including children, the elderly, and those who have low immunity levels will get affected with malaria.

There are many effective home remedies for malaria. Female anopheles mosquitoes carry the plasmodium parasite. When a person is bitten by the female anopheles mosquito, the parasite is transferred to the blood and it starts multiplying in the liver. It eventually ends up affecting the red blood cells.

You can find medicines to treat malaria, but the overuse or excess use of this medication can cause drug resistance issues. So it is always better to try some home remedies to treat malaria. Also if you want to know about certain herbs that help cure malaria.

The main symptoms or evident signs of malaria are vomiting, headache, high fever, chills in the body, nausea, excessive sweating, blood in stools, anaemia and diarrhoea.

Usually the parasite does not survive in a cold climate, so people in warm countries or people travelling from cold to warm places may get affected with malaria easily.

Ginger: Ginger has proved to be an effective home remedy for malaria. It helps to boost your immune level and thus helps to fight against the infection. Ginger is well known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Take a few slices of ginger, boil them in water for about 5-7 minutes. Strain it and then drink the water.

Grapefruit: One of the best and effective options for curing malaria naturally is grapefruit. A substance called quinine present in grapefruit helps in fighting against the parasite that causes malaria. So by consuming grapefruit you can cure malaria naturally.

Fever Nut: Fever nuts are another home remedy for malaria. For best results, you must take about six grams of the seeds found in the nuts with water two hours before the onset of fever and the same dosage after one hour of the attack.

Fenugreek Seeds: Fenugreek seeds not only help in treating malaria, but also in building up the immunity level. Fenugreek seeds can be added to the food and consumed. Or one could soak the seeds in water overnight. Strain it and drink the water in the morning.

Lime And Lemon: Yes, both lime and lemon are one of the best options to get rid of malaria naturally. Mix the juice of a lime and a lemon in water. Drink this mixture before the onset of fever.

Cinnamon: Do you know that cinnamon is a wonderful natural remedy for malaria? If you need a home remedy for malaria, then take a teaspoon of cinnamon powder; boil it in a glass of water by adding a pinch of pepper powder. You can add some honey to it and drink it every day.

Alum: Dry roasted and powdered alum is one of the effective methods to cure malaria. Consume one fourth of a teaspoon of this powder a few hours before the expected fever attack and also after one or two hours after the attack.

Orange Juice: You all may know that orange is rich in vitamin C and it helps in improving the immunity power. By improving your immunity you can get rid of the parasite that causes malaria. So go for some orange juice daily for preventing the attack of malaria.

Basil Leaves: Of course the holy basil leaves have beneficial properties that cure malaria. Take 11 basil leaves and make a paste with three grams of black pepper. Consume this mixture daily to cure or treat malaria.

Sweet Wormwood: Sweet wormwood or Artemisia annua can be an effective remedy for malaria. For the best result, consume it directly. Sweet wormwood is one of the best home remedies for malaria.
