The Role of Turmeric in Prevention & Cure

Instead of trying medicines and remedies after suffering from health conditions, isn't it better to follow certain preventive measures to keep some health problems at bay? Well, adding turmeric to your recipes is one such step which may help you for a lifetime if you start using it now. Turmeric has a good reputation in prevention and cure. It contains antioxidants, antibiotic properties, anti-inflammatory agents and even anti-tumorous agents too.

Consuming turmeric along with black pepper is a good idea as your body can absorb it faster.

Diabetes

  • Turmeric in your diet can repair your body's insulin-response-pathways if you're a diabetic.
  • Add a teaspoon of turmeric to your recipes to ensure your daily consumption.

Psoriasis

  • The curcumin present in turmeric helps treat Psoriasis. Use turmeric both internally and externally.
  • consume it through food and apply it on affected areas if you have Psoriasis.

Heart

  • Turmeric can prevent heart issues. Turmeric can help the endothelium (lining of blood vessels) to perform well. That can normalise your blood pressure and also boost heart health.

Arthritis

  • Arthritis is an inflammatory condition. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory.

Alzheimer’s

  • Many studies claim that people who use turmeric in their dishes on a daily basis have very low risk of suffering Alzheimer's in their old age.
  • A compound known as turmerone which is present in turmeric is said to help in the production of neurons.
  • Turmeric may also help the body in repairing age-related damage in the brain.

Cancer

  • Many studies claim that curcumin present in turmeric can destroy cancer cells and let normal cells thrive well in the body.
  • It can be a good preventive measure. But even people suffering from cancer can include turmeric in their diet after consulting their doctors as some studies say that turmeric can help in the treatment process.
