Five ways to stay disease-free in winters

November is almost over and the vivid nip in the air has set the stage for a full blown cold winter season soon.

Winter is evidently loved by many, thanks to the hot showers, warm blankets, coffee, hot cocoa’s, etc., but unfortunately, the health issues it brings along are often overlooked.

Cold, fever, flu, asthma, body ache, stiffness and all sorts of infections are just some of the problems people face in winters. Of course, there are numerous ways to treat them or cure them, but why wait for the problem when it can easily be avoided?

As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure, therefore, below we give you five tips for you to ensure that you remain healthy and enjoy the winter season to the fullest. Have a look!

Eat your vitamins: Consuming foods that are rich in vitamin C and zinc content like citrus fruits, garlic, etc., strengthen your immune system in order to fight diseases.

Sweat it out: It’s common knowledge that we tend to eat more in winters than any other time of the year. Therefore, it’s important we maintain our body weight, because not only will it help us remain healthy, but also improve metabolism and blood flow, while also keeping us but also keep us warm.

Fruits and veggies: Nutritious food is always a lifesaver. Therefore, it is essential that we consume as much fruits and vegetables as possible, since they provide us with all the requisite nutrients and also boosts our immune system.

Sanitize: Always keep a hand sanitizer handy whether you are at home or not. With so many infections in the air, you’ll need to maintain your hygiene and avoid contact with infected people and places like public restrooms, etc.

Hydrate: Many people complain of not feeling thirsty in winters, but that hardly means that you stop drinking water. Cold weathers cause dryness, which can lead to other problems like itchiness or cold sores, which is why you need to keep yourself well hydrated.
