Class 12 female student tests positive for Covid-19 in Valparai

Teaching and non-teaching staff, fellow students undergo mandatory RT-PCR testing; School and classroom disinfected.


Coimbatore: Even as schools and colleges reopened on September 1 after a long Covid-19 pandemic break, a student of Class 12 tested positive for Covid-19, after being sick for a few days.

Following the Government of Tamil Nadu's order, students from classes 9-12 were asked to resume school routines on a rotational basis and every student was screen-tested on a daily basis. One female student of Class 12 tested positive for Covid-19.



Following this, 14 students, 5 office staff and 23 teachers underwent RT-PCR tests.



The classroom and the school were disinfected. The classmates of the fellow student who had tested positive for Covid-19 have been quarantined at their homes to avoid the risk of spreading the infection to other classes.
