Coimbatore: As part of the non-communicable disease prevention, screening, control and management initiative, health officials in the district are likely to begin adding names of people with comorbidities in rural areas, from next week.
Coimbatore: As part of the non-communicable disease prevention, screening, control and management initiative, health officials in the district are likely to begin adding names of people with comorbidities in rural areas, from next week.
According to health sources, identifying people with comorbidities will help preventing serious complications in them.
The initiative is expected to be launched using the help of village health nurses and block medical staff working in each place. The drive is also expected to be completed within three weeks after its launch. However, the enumeration of names of people with comorbidities in municipality have already begun earlier this week.
Officials are also eyeing to rope in volunteers to do a door-to-door check in rural areas, where people will be asked to enter their names, sex, age, comorbidities and its types, and if they were infected with Covid, or vaccinated etc., on the android mobile phones of health workers.
