CM M K Stalin urged Minister Piyush Goyal to increase the Remdesvir vials allocation to 20,000 a day for Tamil Nadu

Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and his cabinet ministers are working closely to curb the spread of Covid-19. Regarding this the CM on Monday urged the Union Minister for Commerce Piyush Goyal to increase the quantity of Remdesivir vials to 20,000 a day for the state.

CM MK Stalin has also highlighted the present status of the state and said the state it has been allocated to 7,000 Remdesivir a day adding that so far 2.05 lakh vials have been given to the state in total.

Saying that the current allocation is not enough for the state to cater it to both government and private hospitals, Stalin reiterated that the central government to kindly consider the situation and provide 20,000 vials a day.

It is also said in the letter that as many as 1,45,000 people who have been infected by the virus in the state are in the need of the Remidesvir vials as most of them suffer lung and respiratory ailments.

At present, all the government hospitals in the state and the private hospitals under cities are being with the Remidesvir.

However, the minister for commerce Piyush Goyal replied that the matter shall be taken into consideration.
