Coimbatore: Indian Central Government in it's new educational reform plan had given permission for Ayurveda and Alopathy doctors the right to perform surgery and dental care services.

Indian Medical Council and Dental doctors have already opposed this decision. As a part of showing their discontent against the government's decision, Dental doctors and members of the Indian Medical Council took part in a protest at the Sub Collector's office in Pollachi requesting the government to scrap the new reform. The protestors said that doctors without enough experience will be able to perform surgeries by this new order. They also said that the general public will be the most affected by this new rule.

Protestors then chanted slogans against this new educational reform by the Central Government.

Indian Medical Council Pollachi Head Doctor Thirumoorthy, Secretary Saravanan, Udumalaipet Union Head Farshed, Dental doctors union head Rajmohan and many others took part in this event.
