Coimbatore: Republic Day Celebration in Coimbatore: District Collector presented appreciation certificates to doctors who excelled in service during COVID-19.
District Collector K. Rajamani attended the 72nd Republic Day celebrations this morningand hoisted the national flag and accepted the police parade honour. At the ceremony, the District Collector presented certificates of appreciation to 92 doctors and people with outstanding service from the medical field.

He also presented certificates of appreciation to the staff who treated coronavirus patients day and night 10 consecutive months since last March.

Similarly, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu presented medals to 124 constables who had served without taking leave, and 124 personnel who had risked their lives in the rain, storm, flood and natural calamities. Every year, various welfare schemes such as Martyrs' Freedom Struggle, Elderly Pension, Widow's Pension and beneficiaries on behalf of the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department. Awards and grants are presented to those involved in the field of agriculture and are regularly presented at Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations.
But this time the government did not provide welfare assistance as social distancing was observed due to the COVID-19. It was attended by more than a hundred members of the police families, the armed police and government officials.
