Ginger is one commonly used kitchen spice or natural medicine. Ginger (Adrak in Hindi, Zingiber officinale - botanical name) root is the used part of this ayurvedic herb. Ginger is infallible ayurvedic medicine to cure many diseases.

Here are some ayurvedic home remedies or health benefits of ginger.

  1. Ginger is used in tea mostly and Ginger tea provides you relief from sore throat problems.
  2. Eat a small piece of Ginger with applying some salt on it before eating food. It will help to improve the functioning of your digestion system.
  3. Ginger is very useful ayurvedic medicine in Arthritis cure. Eat the pieces of Ginger roasted in Desi Ghee (clarified butter). Also, warm the Ginger pieces with Til (Sesame seed) and massage on joints to end pain or cure Arthritis.
  4. Ginger is also very useful for Paralysis patients. Use the mixture of grinded Ginger with Natural honey in Paralysis treatment.
  5. To cure cough, use the mixture of same amount of Ginger and Lemon extract. This will help you to get relief from cough. Ginger extract and natural honey mixture is also effective in cough treatment.
  6. To treat stomach pain, use the mixture of equal amount of Ginger and Pudina (Mint) extract with some Sendhava Namak (Rock salt).
  7. To stop vomiting use the Ginger and onion extract.
  8. Catarrh, colds is common in winter season and to get relief from this Ginger is useful. Roast the small piece of Ginger in Desi Ghee and mix equal amount of sugar. Prepare a decoction of this mixture by mixing these ayurvedic herbs Sonth (Dried ginger), Tej Patta (Indian bay leaf), Jeera (Black Cumin), Kali Mirch (Peppercorns), Dhania (Coriander), Nag Keshar (Cinnamon buds, Mesua Ferrea), Chhoti Elaichi (Green cardamom) etc.
