The Nilgiris : St.Jude's public school and junior college will host the 4th Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) national volley ball tournament from tomorrow, at Westbrooke Games Arena, Kotagiri.
The three-day national tournament will have 400 players from across the country and is considered as the biggest sporting event of Nilgiris. The tournament will be conducted under different categories like junior boys, junior girls, senior boys and senior girls. This mega sporting event will serve as a common platform for the biggest and best teams from across the country.
Teams from the Northern Region, North West Region, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telengana, Tamilnadu, Odissha and Chattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand are participating in the tournament.
Reputed players like Selva Prabhu and Karthikeyan along with other national volleyball players will also be present at this unique sports spectacle and serve as ‘Spotters.' They will spot the best players of the tournament who will in turn represent the ISC Council at the School Games Federation of India, later this year.
Arijith Basu, Deputy Secretary Finance (CISCE), New Delhi will be the Chief Guest and Dr. N K Charles, Principal of Vikasa School, Tuticorin and Secretary of Schools for the Indian School Certificate (ASISC), Tamilnadu Region, will grace the occasion as the guest of honour.
