Team Nanjundapuram won the men's volleyball competition and Narasipuram team won the women's throwball competition held at the Isha Vidya School, Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Competing at the cluster-level matches of Isha Gramotsavam, Team Nanjundapuram won the men's volleyball competition and Narasipuram team won the women's throwball competition held at the Isha Vidya School, Coimbatore.
Since 2004, Isha Outreach has been conducting Isha Gramtosavam- India’s biggest rural sports festival, with an aim to rejuvenate the spirit of rural India and bring back the zest of life. This year, more than 60,000 athletes from more than 25,000 villages across South Indian states are competing in the event.
As a part of this, cluster level volleyball and throwball matches were held in Coimbatore on August 12th and 13th in areas including Thondamuthur, Karamadai and Pollachi. Hundreds of village teams participated in this.
In the cluster-level competition held at Thondamuthur, Nanjundapuram won the first position,

Devarayapuram team secured the second position, Ranga Nagar Royal,

Theethipalayam team secured the third position and Madhvarayapuram team secured the fourth position.

Similarly, in the women's throwball competition, Narasipuram won the first position, Devarayapuram won the second position, Chinnathadagam won the third position and Karunya won the fourth position.

DMK's Northern District Secretary and former President of Thondamuthur Municipal Corporation T.A. Ravi, President of Velliangiri Manufacturing Company T. Kumar and other special guests congratulated the winners and awarded prize money and certificates of appreciation.

Similarly, in the cluster level volleyball tournament held at Pollachi, Devanampalayam team won the first position, Sudar-A team from Kondegoundenpalayam got the second position, CVC Chetty Pudur - A team got the third position and Meenakshipuram team got the fourth position.

In the competition held at the Karamadai cluster level, Vellayankadu – A and B team got first and second place respectively, Karamadai team got third place and Veerapandi team got fourth place.
The top four teams from the cluster-level competitions advance to compete at the divisional-level competitions slated next month. The finals of the Isha Gramotsavam sports festival will be held on September 23in Coimbatore in front of Adiyogi in the presence of Sadhguru and special guests.
