A large number of women and children witnessed the 136th anniversary of the horse race that began in the Nilgiris on Saturday. The main race, the Nilgiris 1000 Guinness – April 14, 2000 Guinness – April 15, and the Golden Cup – will be held on May 21.

In Ooty, the summer season is in the months of April and May every year. A large number of tourists come to Ooty to enjoy the pleasant weather that prevails then. Horse racing is usually held in such a way that they enjoy it and the beginning of the summer season.
The horse race for this year, which marks the 136th anniversary of the year, began on Saturday.
Around 550 horses have arrived from Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Hyderabad and other places to participate in the race.
They were accompanied by 37 jockeys and 24 coaches.
The main race of the event will be the Nilgiris 1000 Guinness on April 14, the 2,000 Guinness on April 15 and the Nilgiris Gold Cup on May 21. The final race will also be held on May 28.
A large number of tourists thronged the horse racing this morning as all boys and girls are allowed to watch these races.
