The Future India FC held selection trials held for children in football for its football team and has selected Sri Lankan refugee players, a first of the kind, coordinating almost 12 refugee camps all over Tamil Nadu, and children from Pologapatti refugee camp in Coimbatore were selected in the regional trials for Reliance Youth Sports.
Coimbatore: The children from Pologappatti Sri Lankan Refugee Camp get the opportunity to play in a football team.
Project Future India Trust is an NGO responsible for the refugees. They sponsor the kit and the equipment for the players.. Future India coordinates 10-12 camps in Tamil Nadu. A camp was held for selection trials for Reliance Foundation Young Champs held at First Kick Academy on the 27th of March, Sunday.
The Future India FC, an initiative to identify, train, and promote the underprivileged football talents from the Srilankan refugee camp. Aiming to create equal opportunities for all children has given an opportunity for the Sri Lankan refugee children to participate in the talent hunt for Reliance Youth Sports. This is the first time in the history of Indian football, Srilankan refugee children are given the opportunity.
These children who do not locally integrate with the Indian community are given a chance to share the field with children from the mainstream. The NGO had coordinated almost 12 Srilankan refugee camps all over Tamilnadu for this talent hunt.
The NGO thanking Saravanan, The First Kick Soccer School brought this to the notice of Reliance Foundation and obtained permission for these children to participate in this talent hunt believing in FUTURE INDIA FC. Children from Trichy, Salem, Erode, and Coimbatore participated in the trials.

The kids who participated in the selection from the Pologapatti camp in Coimbatore were selected in the regional trials for Reliance Youth Sports. The organization also promised to work for their upliftment and assured them that they will not be left out.
