Coimbatore: Over 100 students of Valparai Government Arts and Science college took part in the marathon held to commemorate the annual day celebrations. The event was flagged off by the Dr. Muralidharan, Principal.

The 6-km long men's marathon commenced from the college premises and passed through Gandhi statue, Post office, Kamaraj Nagar to Puduthottam, and concluded at the college.
In the men's category, the first place was secured by Karthik (M.Sc), second place by Gowtham (B.Com) and the third place by Saravanan (B.Com).

While the 3-km women's marathon commenced at Gandhi Statue, Taluk Office and concluded at the college. Bhuvaneshwari (B.Com) grabbed the first place, Ashwini (B.A.) came second and the third place was secured by Ashwini (B.Com).
All the winners of the marathon were awarded certificates and prizes on the Annual day. Members of the public witnessed the event and cheered the participants.
