S. Radhakrishnan struck a timely 148 as host Coimbatore hammered Cuddalore by an innings and 69 runs to enter the final of the TNCA under-23 inter-district cricket tournament at the PSG Medical College grounds here on Thursday.
After bowling out its opponent early, Coimbatore, overnight 171 for four, went on to post a healthy 318. S. Radhakrishnan shone for the host. His patient knock of 148 came off 190 balls and contained 20 fours and one six. It also saw the team take a 197-run first innings lead.
Coimbatore later came back to bowl out Cuddalore for 128 in its second essay for a place in the final.
Meanwhile in the other semifinal in Chennai, after conceding a 20-run first innings lead, Tiruvallur fought back to reduce Tirupur to 120 for seven on the second day at the Gojan School of Business & Technology-A- Grounds, Edapalayam, Redhills.
