500 kg of plastic waste removed in Coimbatore Marudhamalai - Students join hands with Kovai Kulangal Paathukaapu Amaippu

Kovai Kulangal Padhukappu Amaippu volunteers and more than 70 students of Sankara College of Science and Commerce, together engaged in field work to collect plastic waste in the Marudhamalai area of Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: Tourists in the forest and foothills of Coimbatore routinely throw away plastic waste. As a result, environmental pollution is occurring and wildlife is also facing various impacts.



The Coimbatore District Forest Department volunteers are contributing to the removal of tons of plastic waste in the forest areas.

Kovai Kulangal Padhukappu Amaippu volunteers and more than 70 students of Sankara College of Science and Commerce, together they were engaged in field work to collect plastic waste in the Marudhamalai area of Coimbatore.



About 500 kg of plastic waste has been removed in this field work. Beyond environmental activists, the involvement of students in such social work has been well received by the general public.

In addition, students involved in garbage disposal raised awareness among the public about the disposal of plastic waste.
