Coimbatore: A 16-foot-tall bronze statue of former Chief Minister kalaignar Karunanidhi was unveiled on behalf of the Public Works Department at a cost of Rs 1.75 crore at the Ommandur Estate in Chennai. The statue of Kalaignar was unveiled by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.

The event was attended by a number of ministers and legislators, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.
