Corporation officials visited and inspected the project road to connect Sathyamangalam Road via Vilankurichi from Codissia Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: The Government of Tamil Nadu is taking various measures to alleviate the increasing traffic congestion in Coimbatore.
Starting near the Codissia Trade Fair Complex, located on Avinashi Road, NRI Garden, Co-operative Colony, people have been demanding for years that the project road connecting Sathyamangalam road via Vilankurichi be started.
Realizing the need of the people, some of the landowners along this route have voluntarily agreed to hand over their land to the government.
Co-operative Colony Welfare Association executives Ramasamy and Rajasekar told 22nd Ward Councilor Kovai Babu that action should be taken to implement the scheme expeditiously.

Following this, the corporation officials were informed and this morning town planning officer Jayalakshmi went to the spot and carried out an inspection.

Starting near the Geethanjali School Campus near the Codissia Campus and joining the NRJ Garden Residential Road through the vacant plots of land in a northerly direction and then turns slightly west and then head north on SR Avenue, It is planned to connect the Co-operative Colony and Sri Raghavendra Avenue to the Satyamangalam main road via Vilankurichi along the project road via the Cheranmanagar residential area.
Corporation officials said the next step would be to negotiate with the landowner about the land valuation work. The study of road work after many years has created great confidence among the people.
