AIADMK Councillors protest and boycott ahead of Council Meeting at Victoria Hall

The AIADMK Councillors said there was no plan for the people in the 70 resolutions and hence decided to walk out of the Council Meeting being held at Victoria Hall on Thursday.



Coimbatore: The Council Meeting for the members of the Coimbatore Corporation Council was held at Victoria Hall for the third time on Thursday.



47th Ward AIADMK Councillor Prabhakaran and 90th Ward AIADMK Councillor Ramesh walked out ahead of the meeting in protest of the property tax hike and engaged in a dharna in front of the Victoria Hall, in Town Hall.

Speaking to reporters, Councillor Prabhakaran alleged, "Property tax hike has been imposed on 12 lakh people in Coimbatore. Resolutions must be given to Councillors three days prior to the Council meeting. But it was given at 8 pm last night. There have been 70 resolutions but none of the 70 resolutions contained a plan for the people. All in all, it is a secret meeting for the DMK."
