They sought the Police Commissioner to initiate action against the Singanallur AIADMK MLA Jayaraman for threatening the TASMAC employees with obscene language.
Coimbatore: The TASMAC Bar Owners' Association members filed a complaint with the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, Pradip Kumar against the Singanallur AIADMK MLA K R Jayaraman.
They sought action against the Singanallur AIADMK MLA for threatening the TASMAC employees with obscene language.
AIADMK legislators led by the AIADMK legislator, K R Jayaraman staged a protest on May 23 against the opening of a TASMAC store on Cheran Ma Nagar-Vilankurichi main road in Coimbatore. The Singanallur legislator K R Jayaraman reportedly saw the traders and bar staff standing at the spot and mouthed obscene words at them.

In this context, the Tasmac Bar Owners' Association has lodged a complaint with the Police Commissioner seeking action against the AIADMK MLA for causing division and intimidating them.

"It pains the people of Tamil Nadu who live in unity, beyond caste and religious politics. It is unacceptable to even speak of such separatists. Such an act of a person in public life is tantamount to inciting separatism on a district basis. A petition has been filed at the office of the Commissioner of Police asking for appropriate action to be taken by filing a case against the legislator who sees such district-wise differences," alleged the TASMAC Bar Owners' Association members.
