Tiruppur: A load man was killed on the spot when the tyre of a lorry parked near Palladam in Tirupur exploded. The driver has been admitted to a government hospital for treatment with injuries.

Abu Bakar was driving a lorry that was transporting firewood from Madurai to Palladam. En route, he picked up Veerasamy, a load man to help him deliver the firewood to the destination. After stopping for a cup of tea, both men checked the wheels of the lorry on Udumalai Road. When Veerasamy was checking the rear wheel of the lorry, the tyre reportedly burst and he was thrown afar and died on the spot. Driver, Abu Bakar was also injured and passers-by immediately rushed him to the Palladam Government Hospital for treatment.
