Coimbatore: City police are investigating a chain-snatching incident in which a woman's chain was snatched by two unidentified men as she walked on the road at night.
Savithri (55), the wife of late Rajagopal hails from Maniakarampalayam, near Ganapathy in Coimbatore. She works in a plastics factory nearby and has been the breadwinner since her husband died. Savithri was returning from work as usual on Tuesday, on the road near Maniakarampalayam private school at around 8 pm.
Two unidentified persons reportedly followed Savithri in a two-wheeler and snatched her three-sovereign chain and fled from the scene quickly.
Following this, Savithri lodged a complaint with the Saravanampatti police and registered a case based on her complaint. The police are on the lookout for the two mysterious chain-snatchers.
