3 flights scheduled to land at Kozhikode airport landed at Coimbatore airport instead, due to continuous rains in Kerala.
Coimbatore: Three flights scheduled to land at Kozhikode airport were forced to make emergency landings at Coimbatore International Airport, due to continuous rains in Kerala.
Wayanad, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts of Kerala received heavy rains. Hence, the flight from Sharjah to Kozhikode Airport in Kerala landed and was parked on the 6th parking bay of the Coimbatore Airport tarmac on Wednesday morning due to the inclement weather.
At the same time, a flight from Abu Dhabi landed and was parked on the 4th parking bay of the Coimbatore Airport tarmac. The Sharjah flight which was scheduled to arrive in Kozhikode at 7 am, also landed and was parked at the 9th parking bay of the Coimbatore airport tarmac.
After a long period of waiting for weather conditions to clear, all three flights departed from Coimbatore to Kozhikode Airport.
