Coimbatore: Garbage is constantly dumped at Sengaliappa Nagar which is located near Cheranmanagar's residential area under the 22nd Ward of the Coimbatore Corporation.
The open garbage dump area was found to be an area that was prone to causing health disorders. The people of the area informed Ward Councillor Kovai Babu about the long-standing problem and the Councillor visited the area and immediately took action to clear the area and clean it. Hence, the public has lauded the Councillor and his team for the prompt action in turning the garbage dump to a lush green cover area.
Due to the possibility of continuous dumping of garbage even after the area had been cleaned, saplings were planted in the area that had been cleared resulting in a lush green cover. Surveillance cameras have also been installed in the area to detect and take action against violators. A notice board has also been placed to the effect, leaving residents in the area overjoyed.
