Over a 100 college students petitioned the District Collector on behalf of the Indian Students' Union to seek solutions to various problems at the Coimbatore Government Arts College.
Coimbatore: More than 100 college students filed a petition with the Coimbatore District Collector, G S Sameeran demanding a solution to various problems at the Coimbatore Government Arts College.
The students representing the Indian Students' Union arrived at the District Collectorate to raise their demands.
The students alleged that Fathima, an Assistant Professor of Geography had not taught them for the past six months.
"There is abuse of UGC at the Coimbatore Government Arts College which was allocated for the benefit of students and for college development. A committee should be set up to investigate those involved in these malpractices and also steps need to be taken to improve basic facilities at the college. We demand immediate attention to these demands and appropriate action from the District Collector," stated the students in unison.
