Private bus driver and conductor attack bus passenger near Coimbatore; video goes viral on social media

The incident where a private bus driver and conductor attacked a passenger who did not tender the exact bus fare in the Pasur area near Annur has caused a stir among passengers who request for immediate dismissal of driver and conductor



Coimbatore: A video of a private bus driver and conductor attacking a passenger who did not tender the exact bus fare has gone viral on social media.

Rangasamy, a labourer from Pongalur, near Annur in Coimbatore district boarded a private bus NMS SRT from Annur to Puliyampatti for work. It is alleged that Rangasamy did not tender the exact bus fare to the conductor for the ticket. This led to an argument between the two and the conductor reportedly scolded him. After the argument ended, the driver and conductor who had parked the bus near Pasur on Sathi Road apparently got into an argument with Rangasamy again.



The bus driver and conductor then allegedly attacked Rangasamy as a result of whichRangasamy suffered a neck injury. A motorist who video-recorded the incident on his cell phone shared it on social media which has gone viral.



The incident has caused a stir among commuters who have already complained against private bus drivers for rash driving and causing accidents in Annur. They also allege that these private bus drivers and conductors allow overcrowding of passengers who hang on the footboard of these buses with utter disregard for safety.
