The meeting was held on Saturday at 10 am in memory of the late former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi.
Coimbatore: Former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's 31st death anniversary tribute meeting was held at the Saravanampatti Circle Congress Committee Office at 10 am on Saturday.

The meeting was chaired by the Coimbatore Councillor Jeevi Naveen Kumar, Vice-Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Youth Congress Committee. Circle President Raguraman welcomed the gathering.

An anti-terrorism pledge was also taken at the event.

Later, those participating in the meeting had their mouths muzzled with a white cloth in protest against the release of Perarivalan who was arrested in connection with the assassination of the former Indian Prime Minister.

The meeting was attended by SS Kulam Regional Chairman Nagaraj, District Congress Committee General Secretary Palanisamy, Secretary Samuel Das and Farmers Division General Secretary Royal V Shanmugam, Ganapathy Ashok Kumar, Division Leaders Gopal, Murugesan and other administrators. Sundarasamy Vivekanandan, Kanagaraj, Marudasalam, Balu, Kongu Kathirvell, Kasi, Mayan, senior leaders like SR Shanmugam, Kutty alias Sivakumar, Thuraisamy, Idikarai Sivakumar, Ravikumar, Youth Congress executives, Secretary of State, Premkumar, Kavundampalayam Gopi, Panneerselvam, Suresh, Tamilchelvan, Dinesh and various executives including Itikarai Arun, Leeban, Padma and Rekha were present.
