Man denies loan and gets beaten up near Pollachi

Mahalingapuram police have registered a case and arrested the two based on a complaint.


Coimbatore: Police have arrested two persons for allegedly assaulting a painter near Pollachi in Coimbatore.

Radhakrishnan, 41, hails from Kittasurampalayam near Pollachi. He has been in the painting business for many years. 24-year-old Lokesh and 24-year-old Pradeep from D. Kottampatti went to Radhakrishnan's house and asked him for a loan.

He said he had no money at the time. However, it is said that the two constantly harassed Radhakrishnan by asking for money. There was an argument between them yesterday regarding this.

It is alleged that the two enraged young menstarted thrashing Radhakrishnan. The injured painter was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Following a complaint lodged by Radhakrishnan, the Mahalingapuram police registered a case and arrested Lokesh and Pradeep.
