Coimbatore: Memorial Day was observed in Coimbatore on behalf of all democratic organizations.

Following this, Thirumurugan Gandhi, the co-ordinator of the May 17 movement, told reporters that a general referendum should be held on the genocide in Tamil Eelam and that Tamil Eelam should be formed. In this regard, the resolution has been passed in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.

On behalf of all democratic organizations, we repeatedly call for a referendum throughout Tamil Nadu, as well as for an international inquiry. He said that we are constantly fighting for this demand.

He also called on the Government of India to stop supporting Sri Lanka to take these demands to the world stage. Similarly, Tamil Nadu fishermen continue to be killed in Sri Lanka and the Government of India should speak to the Government of Sri Lanka about this.

But so far no action has been taken and the Government of India must take a decisive decision to get justice for the continued massacre of fishermen. Similarly, the present government of Tamil Nadu is functioning as a government that expresses the cultural, political and economic rights of seven crore Tamil people in Tamil Nadu.

The BJP government continues to deny state rights. But the Supreme Court has delivered a landmark judgment on the release of Perarivalan in a way that sheds light on the rights of state governments. The Supreme Court has warned that this would put an end to the governor's power. Similarly, it has upheld the power of the state government in ruling on the GST issue.

The Supreme Court verdict has exposed the BJP government's attempt to usurp state rights. We also demand the role of the state government in foreign policy. Moreover, governors across India must be abolished and an alliance formed to uphold state self-government. The people of Tamil Nadu have set aside the BJP, which wants to divide religiously.

The period of exclusion is now developing in India as well. The court, the legislature and the people's assembly have given the verdict of justice based on the release of Perarivalan. Any party that speaks against this will be considered as a party against the demands of the Tamil people.

The Congress, which has to politicize against the BJP, continues to take action against Tamil Nadu. He said the Congress had joined hands with the BJP as a party to oppress Tamils from Delhi.
