School boy killed by poisonous snake bite in Coimbatore

The boy hailing from Dindigul had come to his grandfather's house in TVS Nagar, Thudiyalur in Coimbatore for the last 2 days. He is currently on summer vacation from his school. The boy was rushed to Coimbatore Government Hospital where he succumbed to the snake bite.



Coimbatore: A school boy died in Coimbatore after being bitten by a poisonous snake.

Vadivelmuthu hails from Dindigul district. His son Manivel (12) was a 5th standard student in a private school in Gampagam.

He had come to his grandfather's house in TVS Nagar, Thudiyalur, Coimbatore for the last 2 days as he is currently on summer vacation for school.

The boy was playing with a ball throwing on the terrace of the house yesterday. While he was playing, the ball fell into the bush near the house.

The boy went down into the bush to pick up the ball. A poisonous snake that was there in the bush bit the boy when he left his hand to pick up the ball.

After the bite, the boy went to his home and reported to his grandparents about the bite. They immediately rushed Manivel to the Coimbatore Government Hospital.

The boy was provided intensive care but the poison had started affecting his organs. He was then transferred to the Intensive Care Unit. Despite the best efforts of the doctors, the boy died last night succumbing to the poison from the snake bite.
