Female farm worker of TNAU Coimbatore electrocuted to death during work in Coimbatore

Sulur police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.


Coimbatore: A female plantation employee of the Agricultural University died tragically due to a power outage in Coimbatore.

Manikandan hails from the Sulur valley area of Coimbatore. Electrician. His wife Velumani (32). She has been working as a gardener for the last 5 years in a garden owned by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University at Kannampalayam.

Velumani and Savithri, Senthamarai and Umarani were at work in the garden as usual yesterday. Velumani then runs a motor to water the garden.

Velumani unexpectedly holds an iron poster in her left hand. In this Velumani was electrocuted and thrown down. She was unconscious and rushed to the Coimbatore Government Hospital by 108 ambulances.

Doctors who examined her there said he was already dead. Sulur police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
