National Disaster Management Rescue Force training rehearsal held at Azhiyar Dam

The training involved personnel descending on the Azhiyar Dam and did a mock drill training of rescuing someone who had drowned.


Coimbatore: The National Disaster Management and Rescue Force conducted a rehearsal exercise at Azhiyar Dam

A team of 80 trainees undergoing training at the Central Reserve Force Training College, Thoppampatti, Coimbatore, led by Commando Rajeshkumar, Deputy Commando Harikumar and Sunil Kumar on the orders of IG Verma conducted a rehearsal on security and precautionary measures to be taken during the disaster at Azhiyar Dam.



The training was conducted by an 8-member team led by Inspector Prabhu. The soldiers were given exercises on how to rescue those trapped in the flood with rescue tools such as empty bottles and empty drums available at hand at the time and rescuing those who drowned.
