Coimbatore: District level cricket matches started at Pollachi Municipal Men's High School Grounds.
The district level 20 over cricket series started today at the Pollachi Municipal Men's High School Grounds on behalf of the Pollachi Young Star Cricket Club for the 9th year and the 2nd year commemorative trophy of Rajkumar M.S.Mani.
The knock-out tournament will feature 28 teams from Pollachi, Coimbatore, Tiruppur and Karur. The Shakti Cricket Academy team will take on the PYCC in the first match starting today.
Shakti Cricket Academy won the toss and elected to bat first. Accumulated 201 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Nachi Kumar top scored with 88 and Sri Niranjan with 40.
PYCC set a target of 202 for victory. The team lost all their wickets in 18.4 overs and scored only 60 runs. Guna top-scored with 26 runs. Shakti Cricket Academy won by 141 runs.
