Unidentified miscreants throw fireworks at Sauparnika Sankara Vijendra Puri's car in city's Navakkarai area

The KK Chavadi police are investigating the incident to trace the miscreants.


Coimbatore: Unidentified miscreants threw fireworks at the car of Swami Sauparnika Sankara Vijendra Puri who was staying at a house in Navakkarai, in Coimbatore.

Swami Sauparnika Sankara Vijendra Puri (41) of Hosur Sankara Peetha, Kerala is on a visit to Coimbatore for the past four days with regard to the start of the construction of a new monastery in the Navakkarai area. He has already been given police protection.



It was reported to the KK Chavadi police that miscreants had hurled two explosives at Swami's car which had been parked in front of the house where he was staying in Navakkarai. Explosives experts and KK Chavadi police who arrived at the scene seized the mysterious object and are carrying out an investigation.

The first phase of the investigation revealed that only ordinary firecrackers were used and subsequently, the firecrackers were separated and buried near the highway.
