A new master plan will be developed to meet the structural requirements of Coimbatore - Chief Minister MK Stalin

In Coimbatore, the Chief Minister said that so far 69,325-crore investment has been received in Tamil Nadu and 131 MoUs have been signed to create employment for 2,25,000 people.



Coimbatore: Chief Minister Stalin attended a discussion program with industries held at a private hotel on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore.



About 33 industry organizations from various industries from Coimbatore, Tirupur and Erode districts participated.

The meeting discussed the rise in raw material prices, GST tax, cotton and yarn prices and the crisis facing the industry.



Then Chief Minister MK Stalin who started his speech said that he has come to Coimbatore which is pleasant due to the smell of charm. Coimbatore is a city of excellence in all industries such as textile, engineering, automobile, wet grinder, gold jewelery and gemstone manufacturing. There's no field that Coimbatoreans don't excel in.

Currently, Coimbatore is fast growing in the field of information technology, Coimbatore is growing next to Chennai in the field of software. Chief Minister Stalin noted that Tidel Park was world-renowned for its industrial parks.

The Chief Minister further said that Coimbatore Airport is essential for the industrial development of the Western Region and Coimbatore district.



Kalaignar had started the work of elevating Coimbatore Airport to a world class standard, 1132 crore has been earmarked for the expansion of the airport and the work will be completed soon, Chief Minister Stalin promised that the Coimbatore airport would be upgraded to the level of Chennai.

Innovation will further strengthen this prosperous district, he said the "New Hub for Emerging Technology" would be developed to establish a new hub for communications technology, space defense research and development and a new master plan would be developed to meet Coimbatore's structural requirements.



He also said that an intellectual research park would be set up at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in collaboration with government agencies such as SIDCO, TIDCO, SIPCOT and TANSIDCO. He said that Tamil Nadu should be the best state to invest in South Asia and urged the industry to take advantage of the facilities provided by the government for further development.

₹360 crore more than last year and 3522 companies have been subsidized, he said the government was taking steps to provide businesses at affordable prices under the credit guarantee scheme and was focusing on protecting businesses in the western region, including Coimbatore.



Following this, Chief Minister Stalin listed the steps being taken by the Government of Tamil Nadu for the development of the industrial sector on behalf of Tamil Nadu in Coimbatore. To popularize Jio Textiles and Coconut Fiber produced in Tamil Nadu in the domestic and export markets and to develop rope companies across the State. He said that "Tamil Nadu Coir Business Development Corporation" will be started in Coimbatore and Rs. 5 crore has been allocated as capital for the first phase.

The Government has announced that three Regional Level Business Centers will be set up in all parts of Tamil Nadu to facilitate business development. Steps are being taken to set up companies with government subsidy in areas including Erode, Tirupur and Karur.
