Najimul Islam (23) who sexually harassed two girls in Coimbatore has been arrested by the Perur All Women Police under the POCSO Act. He was produced in court and remanded him in custody.
Coimbatore: A youth who sexually harassed two girls in Coimbatore has been arrested by the Perur All Women Police under the POCSO Act.
The first victim was 9-year-old studying in 4th Standard in Coimbatore. When she was alone at home on Sunday a young man came to the house and asked for water to drink.
The little girl gave him water. The young man then sexually harassed the girl. When the girl shouted, the neighbors rallied and he fled.
Later that evening, the same man sexually harassed 5-year-old daughter of another couple living in the same area. When the little girl screamed he ran away from there.
The parents of the two girls lodged a complaint with the All Women Police, Perur. The police investigation revealed that it was the same person who sexually harassed the two girls and he was identified as Najimul Islam (23) from Vanjiyamman nagar in Thondamuthur.
Following this, the police arrested Najimul Islam, who had been lurking near the house while the police were looking for him, who had filed a case against him under the POCSO Act, and produced him in court and remanded him in custody.
