In this situation, the Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Farmers' Protection Association, who had spearheaded several protests such as the Avinashi Athikadavu Project, Sand Robbery, Jallikattu, toll booth, Somanur bus stand accident and the anti-liquor store protests has been added to the list of rowdies who would have been perpetrators of murder, robbery, cannabis, lottery, alcohol and other such crimes. A petition was filed on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Farmers' Protection Association on December 8 against the inclusion of Elachipalayam Prabhakaran, Madhapur Jayakumar, Kaniyur Panchayat President Unjapalayam Velusamy and Ananthakumar in the rowdy list.
To date no name has been removed from the list of rowdies as the police who received the petition have assured that they will consider it.

The Tamil Nadu Farmers' Protection Union has launched an innovative protest against the Karumathampatti police for adding social activists to the rowdy list.

For this, more than 50 farmers had come to the Karumathampatti police station today to present a bouquet of flowers to the police in the presence of lawyer Prabhakaran, Ram and led by Eesan Murugasamy.

Police officials, who also refused to get the sweets and bouquets given by the farmers, said they would take action and the Deputy Superintendent of Police would hold talks with them.
