CCTV footage of a hotel owner being attacked by sacked employees in Coimbatore created a stir on social media.

Coimbatore: City Police have registered a case against erstwhile employees of a private restaurant near Podanur in Coimbatore for attacking the owner of the restaurant.

Sebastian (30) of Amman Nagar, Nanjundapuram Road, next to Podanur in Coimbatore has been running a restaurant on Podanur Main Road for the past four years, after having completed his B.Tech. Siva, Sarathi and Naveen who were working in Sebastian's restaurant were reportedly addicted to drugs in the past few months and not working diligently. As a result, Siva, Sarathi and Naveen were sacked from work, a few days ago.

On Saturday, in Sebastian's absence, Siva and Sarathi reportedly arrived at the restaurant and took away Vetri, another employee and supplied him with alcohol and drugs. When Sebastian returned to oversee the restaurant, he found Vetri in an inebriated state and unable to work. Subsequently, Sebastian questioned Vetri who told him that Siva and Sarathi had taken him away and bought him alcohol.

Following this, Sebastian called Siva on his cell phone and questioned him. An argument broke out between the two, following which an enraged Siva, along with Sarathi, Naveen and their friend Mithun arrived in a car in front of the hotel run by Sebastian, on Saturday evening.

The men reportedly teased women who came into the restaurant which led Sebastian to reprimand them. Thereafter, Siva and Sarathi spewed indecent words and attacked Sebastian with a stone, hitting him on the head and the face. Sebastien was injured on his head and face. Siva, Sarathi, Naveen and Mithun reportedly fled from the scene soon after. Passers-by heard Sebastian scream and rushed to rescue him and admitted him to the hospital for treatment.

Subsequently, Sebastian lodged a complaint at the Podanur police station. The police have registered a case against Siva, Sarathi, Naveen and Mithun and are investigating the complaint. The CCTV footage of the hotel owner being attacked by sacked employees has caused a stir on social media.
