Coimbatore: A petition has been filed by the Tamil Nadu Farmers' Association demanding the removal of encroachments on temples and public places.

A petition was filed today on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Farmers' Association at the Coimbatore District Collector's Office demanding the removal of encroachments on temples and public places in the areas under the Annur circle.

In the petition filed under the chairmanship of S. Palanisamy, “Jothilakshmi, Muthusamy and Raman are occupying the public space belonging to the Mahaliamman and Mariamman temples in Dasapalayam town in Annur district and setting up shops. Thus preventing the public from coming and going during temple and festivals.

Therefore, the Coimbatore district administration should take steps to remove the occupation and allow the public to walk through it without any hindrance.”
