Coimbatore: Prakash (26) a private mill worker, his wife Mridula Sri (25) and his son Saithakshan (5) were returning from Karamadai to their home in Annur, on their two-wheeler at around 11 pm last night. They were hit by a speeding car when they were crossing the road at the Orikkalpalayam unit. All three sustained serious injuries in the accident.
Passers-by rushed to their aid immediately and admitted them at the Annur Government Hospital. Doctors who examined the trio pronounced both the father and son dead.
Mridula Sri is now reportedly being treated for grievous injuries at the Coimbatore Government Hospital and will receive further emergency care.
Annur police have registered a case and arrested Muthusamy, a resident of Annur Ganesapuram area who is believed to have caused this tragic accident.
