Students of Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology host 'Pongal Vizha 2017'

Dressed in Dhoti and Saree, the students of Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology celebrated the 'Pongal Vizha 2017' at their college. 



As part of the celebrations, traditional games like uriyadi, traditional dances, rope pulling were organised. 

The entire place depicted like a village, as the place was aesthetically decorated with flowers, sugarcane, banana trees, colorful rangoli's and mud pots. The attire of the students added a traditional touch to the entire event. The students along with the professors enjoyed cooking the Pongal dish, the traditional way using mud pots. 

RJ's,  Maha and Mohan from Hello FM were the chief guests for the event. Dr. S. Thangavelu, Chairman of the institution in address emphasized about the culture and heritage of our country. He also stressed on the importance of celebrating 'Pongal'. 

Definitely, it was a moment of joy, the students would cherish forever.
